it will rain

If you ever leave me baby,
Leave some morphine at my door
‘Cause it would take a whole lot of medication
To realize what we used to have,
We don’t have it anymore.

There’s no religion that could save me
No matter how long my knees are on the floor
So keep in mind all the sacrifices I’m makin’
Will keep you by my side
Will keep you from walkin’ out the door.
[Chorus]
Cause there’ll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There’ll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same, if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain…

I’ll never be your mother’s favorite
Your daddy can’t even look me in the eye
Oooh if I was in their shoes, I’d be doing the same thing
Sayin there goes my little girl
Walkin’ with that troublesome guy

But they’re just afraid of something they can’t understand
Bruno Mars It Will Rain lyrics found on

Oooh well little darlin’ watch me change their minds
Yeah for you I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try
I’ll pick up these broken pieces ’til I’m bleeding
If that’ll make you mine

[Chorus]
Cause there’ll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There’ll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain…

[Bridge]
Don’t just say, goodbye
Don’t just say, goodbye
I’ll pick up these broken pieces ’til I’m bleeding
If that’ll make it right

[Chorus]
Cause there’ll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There’ll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain…

Petra

Still not there yet

Petra was thirteen years old when she finally figured out that there was no such thing as dragons. She was in the middle of repairing one of her father’s prized fishing nets, working sullenly away bracketed by two of her sisters, when Ilonia said something offhanded about some story one of the boys had told her, about dragons in a place called Shai a long time ago. Dragons who had riders, who fought bad guys and saved the day when Warlords moved to expand, or magicians started kidnapping children.

Ilonia was tall and slender, with rusty brown hair that tumbled gracefully past her shoulders, and laughing green eyes. Even at seventeen you could tell she was going to be gorgeous, calloused palms, freckles, crooked teeth and all. The boys of Kivos agreed.

At thirteen, Petra was tall too, but in the awkward way of a newborn colt who couldn’t quite…

107 Pages and Writing

Punch the Key

Over the weekend I bought the Storyist App for my iPad. Man, do I wish I had bought it sooner! It is software that provides manuscript templates and makes editing very easy to do. So far, my novel has translated into 107 pages. I still have plenty to write. I feel I am only half way through this story.

I have also made the decision to not look for another job. I may not exactly enjoy where I am, but I really need to put the focus on my writing. I want my dream of getting published to come true more than ever and am willing to do what it takes. I am not holding back now. I know for certain that anything else I do professionally will be done with a half-committed heart. My soul belongs to storytelling.

Doily Garlands to make at home

Jah Doily

With the holidays upon us I’ve been thinking a lot about decorations.  From now till Christmas I will be posting some of my online favorite finds. I’ll do my darndest to give you links to instructions whenever I can. (Sorry, not all of these come with instructions but they look easy to duplicate.)

Garlands! Possibly the easiest way to make a regular old room into a festive retreat. Here are a few gems I’m thinking of testing out. Making your home more festive doesn’t need to be time-consuming or costly. A trip to the dollar store and a strand of lights are all you need.

Try mixing in metallic or coloured doilies to make your garland more lively or to match your holiday colour scheme. What, you don’t have a colour scheme? Let me tell you, it’s a handy thing to have.
